Bradley Air Museum

Both 129801 and 125530 are part of the collection of the Con.Aeronautical Hist.Association by 01May 1966.

On outside display until late 1978.

During 1975 the complete tailboom construction of 125530 was mounted to the 129801 airframe. 

By late 1978 the aircraft was removed from display and taken to a hangar for restoration. This restoration effort was cancelled after the tornado disaster of 03 Oct 1979. It was put in storage.

The original  '801 tailboom pair was seen in storage at Bob's Air Park, Tucson,AZ  since at least Apr 1998 ; And in Jan 2004 seen at the K-Tech, AZ compound.

For a complete ground-up restoration by Mr. Jack Lenhardt, the airframe was transported to Hubbard, OR (about 1983 - duration unknown)

After restoration 138101 was transported back to the Pensacola, FL On display inside the Museum - no tail code .

The Museum decided to discontinue the display , the airframe was moved outside the hangar and during early 1991 the airframe travelled one more time to Hubbard, Oregon and was repainted in U.S. Army colors.

From storage at Allied Aircraft Inc.,Tucson, AZ , to Bonners Ferry, ID for restoration by Timber Choppers Inc. ; to

MUSEUM of Aviation. Between 1988 and Mar 1996 seen on outside display (rotorless).

 

since Aug 1997 - 2010 in storage near Museum restoration shop .

During 2010, 58-1853 was taken inside the restoration hangar and was repainted in camouflage scheme and received serial "81845" - the work was finished in Oct 2010. That month  "81845" was placed on inside-display as part of the collection dedicated to the Vietnam War.  According to the Museum it was marked as 81845, an HH-43B assigned to DET.1, 38th ARRS that crashed near Phan Rang AB, Vietnam on October 10, 1968. All five crewmembers were killed.  The pilot was originally from the state of Georgia.

New England Air Museum 

On 24 Jan 1991 the Museum sold the real 60-0289  to Kaman Aerospace Corp. Sent it to Bonners Ferry, ID for restoration to flying condition by Timber Choppers Inc.

It is flying as N43FK from Bloomfield, CT (1993-at least 2014)

Kaman provided the Museum a non flyable airframe made up from various parts. It was painted as "00289".
This restoration work was done by Timber Choppers Inc., Idaho.

2002 : The airframe is in bad condition. The owner, Mr. Doug Coleman, is intending to restore the HUK when funds would become available. During the second half of 2007 some restoration work was started (see photo page).
The aircraft was collected from the Daytona Beach, FL area and is supposed to have been part of the Harry Doan collection there.
