3..8.1.1 Capt Harold L. Hering of Det 29, CARC, Vance AFB, Okla. , reached the "magic" 1,000-hour mark in the HH-43B on 28 Feb 1963. A total of 630 hours were logged by Captain Hering in the HH-43A and 370 hours in the HH-43B.
